How to Find a Meeting

Recovery International meetings are held all over the country by Chat, Phone, Zoom, and Community (in-person).  On average, meetings are 90 minutes but some may be shorter.

The Find a Meeting box to the right lets you quickly choose by type of meeting. You will then be taken to a meeting page which lists all the meetings of  the specific type you requested. You can change meeting type, choose a meeting by location (state), or choose a specific day.

Special Focus Meetings

These meetings are designed for members with a shared interest and led by a facilitator who has relevant experience. Examples given in these meetings may extend beyond the usual RI topics, but are trivialities related to the special focus of the meeting. Special focus meetings include RI meetings in Spanish and Japanese. Choose “Special Focus” from the dropdown to see all special focus meetings.

Caregivers and Grief

This group offers support for anyone facing daily stressors and emotional challenges related to caregiving, grief, or major life changes—such as downsizing, relocating, or moving away from close friends. By using Recovery International's cognitive-behavioral tools, members learn practical ways to manage everyday frustrations and find relief. Whether you are caring for someone, adjusting after a loss, or navigating transitions like a new home or separation from loved ones, you are welcome here to connect and share support. Meets via Zoom on Wednesdays, 5:00pm Eastern time.

12 Step People

This group provides a safe and confidential space for anyone attending any 12 Step program to practice the RI Method. For those individuals interested in the benefits of utilizing both programs jointly, this meeting focuses on using the Recovery International 4-Step Method on issues related to working a 12 step program. Meetings last one hour and will open 10 minutes early – late arrivals will be unable to join. Meets via Zoom on Sundays, 7:00pm Eastern time. (If you are new to RI you might find it helpful to also attend a Newcomer Welcome meeting.)

Chronic Physical Conditions

Find support for dealing with physical symptoms from a chronic condition. Types of conditions attendees have may include auto-immune diseases, physical injuries, back pain, Osteoporosis or severe arthritis, and others. Meets via Zoom or phone.  Choose Special Focus from the dropdown search field.

Using the RI Method for Grief

When grieving a loss, you may not think that anything could be a triviality. We are not a grief group in the traditional sense that we are processing mourning. Rather, we focus on some trivial aspects of life after loss that can be handled using our RI cognitive behavioral tools. No matter who or what you are grieving, you are welcome to this group for a chance to gain some relief with everyday challenges of grief and loss. Meets via phone. Choose Special Focus from the dropdown search field.

Peace with Eating

Eating is personal. Sometimes we feel like certain acts are big deals that work us up, when they are, in fact, trivialities–once spotted. In this meeting, we’ll identify the ways we use food to sabotage and to self-blame. We will practice the RI Method and learn to stop judging ourselves for our food acts, and make peace with eating. Meets via Zoom on Saturdays at 3:00pm Eastern time.
